The ecological challenges currently facing the planet are exerting significant pressure not only on global ecosystems but also on sustainable development, public health, living standards, and the overall progress of nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was highlighted in a message from President Ilham Aliyev regarding World Environment Day.
The head of state noted that the well-being of future generations depends directly on the ability of the current generation to address these pressing global challenges effectively.
"We in Azerbaijan approach this commitment with full responsibility and are implementing large-scale projects in the field of environmental protection," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
Azerbaijan has prioritized the transition to green energy as a core pillar of its national development strategy. By hosting major international events like COP29, the country aims to showcase its commitment to decarbonization and the development of renewable energy sources, particularly in the liberated Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions, which have been declared green energy zones.
