“It is a great honor for me to receive such a prestigious award. Especially since it bears the name of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, the late Sheikh Zayed,” President Ilham Aliyev stated. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the head of state made these remarks during an interview with Euronews television in Davos on January 20.
The President emphasized that the award serves as recognition for the work done to stabilize the region. “I accept this decision as an appreciation of our efforts in building peace in the Caucasus after more than thirty years of bloodshed, conflicts, and wars,” the head of state noted. President Ilham Aliyev was recently named a recipient of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity for his contributions to global peace and coexistence.
The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is an international prize established to recognize individuals and entities making profound contributions to human progress and peaceful coexistence. The award is named in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose values of tolerance and humanitarianism remain a cornerstone of the UAE's diplomacy. President Ilham Aliyev’s participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos highlights Azerbaijan’s growing influence in international diplomacy and its strategic role in ensuring regional security and economic integration in the South Caucasus.
