An incident occurred at a school in Baku’s Garadagh district after a ninth-grade student who was wearing makeup was not allowed to attend class.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reported that the student’s father, Chingiz Balabayov, clashed with the school principal, disrupted the school’s operations and used offensive language toward teachers.
Police detained him, and he was arrested.
Schools in Azerbaijan operate under rules governing students’ conduct and appearance. Disputes over such rules are generally handled by school administrations in coordination with parents, while incidents involving alleged disruption or misconduct may be referred to law enforcement.
