A Palestinian man was shot by Israeli forces during a raid in the northern occupied West Bank on Monday, while attacks on homes and residents were reported in several other areas, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa and Anadolu Agency.
The man was shot in the abdomen and thigh during the raid on Qabatiya, south of Jenin. Israeli forces reportedly held him and prevented ambulance crews from reaching him for several minutes before allowing him to be taken to hospital.
Attacks reported in Nablus and Hebron areas
In Nablus, Israeli settlers reportedly stole olives from Palestinian farmland in Beita days before the annual harvest and attacked the community of Khirbet al-Marajim, local sources told Anadolu Agency. The attackers also attempted to enter a home while a family was inside, the sources said.
In the southern West Bank, armed Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes and assaulted residents in Halhul, north of Hebron, as Israeli forces deployed in the area. Israeli forces also detained two Palestinians in the Hebron area.
In Jinba village, south of Hebron, troops forced a Palestinian family to dismantle tents erected on the ruins of homes demolished days earlier and confiscated the family’s vehicle, Wafa reported.
Palestinian figures on West Bank violence
According to Palestinian figures, Israeli military operations and settler attacks across the occupied territory have intensified since the start of Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023. The figures say 1,206 Palestinians, including 254 children, have been killed, about 13,350 injured and more than 24,600 arrested.
