A yellow and orange weather warning has been issued regarding the windy conditions expected in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and various regions of Azerbaijan on April 6.

The Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, reports that an orange alert is in effect for Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, Gazakh, Agstafa, Dashkasan, Mingachevir, Naftalan, and Goranboy. In these areas, a northwest wind is expected to strengthen, with speeds reaching between 20.8 and 28.4 meters per second.

In other regions of the country, a yellow alert has been issued. According to the warning, northwest winds in these areas will reach speeds of 13.9 to 20.7 meters per second. Authorities advise the public to exercise caution, particularly near tall trees, unfinished buildings, and power lines during periods of high wind intensity.

The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely updates on weather patterns. Orange alerts signify a high risk of weather-related incidents that could impact infrastructure and daily life, while yellow alerts indicate potentially dangerous weather conditions that require public awareness. Such seasonal wind patterns are common in the Caspian region, often influenced by shifting pressure systems across the Caucasus.
