Neftchi Baku has officially secured the permanent transfer of forward Freddy Vargas, who played for the club on loan during the previous season.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the club's press service confirmed that a 2+1 year contract has been signed with the Venezuelan national team player.
Vargas, 27, originally joined Neftchi in the summer of 2024 on a one-year loan deal from the Israeli club Maccabi Netanya, which included an option to purchase. During his loan tenure, the forward made 34 official appearances, contributing 5 goals and 8 assists. His permanent acquisition is seen as a strategic move to bolster Neftchi's attacking capabilities for the upcoming season.
