Nearly 70 people were injured as Russia and Ukraine exchanged accusations over overnight airstrikes on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.
In Ukraine, Kharkiv regional governor Oleh Synyehubov said more than 62 people were injured in a Russian strike on a medical facility in the Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv.
One building housing a medical department was damaged, along with windows in four high-rise residential buildings and 10 passenger cars, Synyehubov said. He added that 226 patients were being evacuated to other medical facilities.
Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said five people were injured in morning strikes in the region, two of them critically.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said it had carried out “massive” overnight strikes in Ukraine, hitting energy infrastructure in the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions that it said supplied electricity to military-industrial enterprises and the Ukrainian army.
The ministry also said it had struck port infrastructure in Ukraine’s southern Odesa region and maritime vessels “used for military purposes”.
In a separate statement, the ministry said Russian air defences had downed 856 Ukrainian drones over 14 regions, as well as over the Black Sea and Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014.
In Russia, Yaroslavl Governor Mikhail Yevrayev said two employees were injured by shrapnel and taken to hospital after Ukrainian drones targeted an oil refinery in the regional capital. The facility was damaged.
Yevrayev said a total of 124 drones had been intercepted. Debris from downed drones shattered windows in several apartment buildings and private homes and damaged residents’ vehicles, he added.
The Russian and Ukrainian claims could not be independently verified. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure and say their strikes are directed only at military targets or facilities linked to military activities.
