“There were concerns that amendments to the Law on Labour Pensions would reduce pension payments. That is not the case.”
The Operative Information Center-OMM reported that Musa Guliyev, chairman of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee on Labour and Social Policy, made the remarks at the committee’s meeting today.

He said pension increases are based on insurance principles:
“About 90% of pensions are increased in line with growth in the average monthly wage. Insurance-based pensions are indexed and increased annually. The amendments to the law will regulate the increase coefficients, allowing pensions at lower levels to rise by more.”
