More than 308,000 people have been displaced from Sudan’s three Kordofan states since late October 2025, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.
The UN migration agency said its field teams recorded 308,179 displaced people from 1,327 locations across North, West and South Kordofan between Oct. 25, 2025, and Sept. 1, 2026.

According to the IOM, 118 incidents triggered displacement in the region during that period.
The largest number of people displaced from Kordofan was recorded in Khartoum state, where 123,509 people were staying. A further 66,575 were recorded in North Kordofan and 40,237 in White Nile state.
Previous IOM figures had put the number displaced from the Kordofan states at about 219,319 between Oct. 25, 2025, and June 23, 2026.
Fighting between rival forces
North, West and South Kordofan have experienced fighting between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since the conflict escalated in late October 2025.
The two sides have been at war since April 2023. The conflict has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced millions across Sudan and into neighbouring countries.
