Moldova always remembers and highly appreciates the support provided by Azerbaijan during its difficult times, the visiting official stated in the capital.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Mihai Popșoi, Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, made these remarks during a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku. The minister expressed satisfaction with the existing friendly relations between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation across various sectors.
The Foreign Minister further declared that Moldova strongly condemns the attacks carried out against Azerbaijan using Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and stands in full solidarity with Baku on this matter. He noted that such actions undermine regional stability and require a unified international response.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova have strengthened significantly in recent years, characterized by mutual support for territorial integrity and sovereignty. Both nations actively collaborate within international organizations, including the Eastern Partnership and the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development. This visit underscores the strategic importance of energy cooperation and humanitarian aid, which have been central pillars of the bilateral partnership between Baku and Chisinau.
