Moldova has officially condemned the recent drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Moldova's Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi expressed this stance via his official account on X (formerly Twitter).

"Moldova strongly condemns the attacks on civilian objects in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which resulted in the injury of two civilians. Moldova stands in solidarity with Azerbaijan and reaffirms its support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the minister stated.

The incident in Nakhchivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, has drawn international attention to the security situation in the region. Such attacks on civilian populations and non-military infrastructure are considered violations of international humanitarian law. Azerbaijan has consistently called on the international community to hold perpetrators of such escalations accountable to ensure regional stability.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova have strengthened in recent years, characterized by mutual support for territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders. Both nations cooperate closely within various international organizations, including the Council of Europe and the OSCE, focusing on regional security and economic development.
