Debris from two intercepted cruise missiles injured four people and caused minor damage to 15 homes in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said early Wednesday.
The agency said Yemen’s Houthi group launched the missiles, which were intercepted on Tuesday. The falling debris injured two women, a man and a child. Emergency procedures were carried out, it added.
In a separate statement, coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said forces had intercepted and destroyed another cruise missile in Al-Kharj, southeast of Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry said an administrative building belonging to “Saudi Aramco” in the eastern city of Dhahran was targeted on Tuesday evening, sparking a small fire. Emergency teams responded and took the necessary measures; no injuries or deaths were reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Saudi-led coalition said it had intercepted and destroyed six missiles and drones launched by the Houthis towards the kingdom.
Al-Maliki said missiles heading towards Haradh and Dhahran had been intercepted. The coalition also reported debris falling in a residential area of Dhahran, and said it had intercepted cruise missiles and drones in the Riyadh region and southern Saudi Arabia.
