Military salaries and pensions in Azerbaijan are expected to increase.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that military expert Adalat Verdiyev announced the information.
He said measures are under way to align the Azerbaijani Army’s salaries and pensions with an advanced international system:
“According to information I have received, a new reform package in this area is imminent. Finally, the army’s pay system will be based on international standards and have a unified structure. Salaries will be calculated with account taken of the place, nature, conditions and difficulty of service.
Salaries for military personnel in the Ministry of Defense are set to increase by an average of nearly 25% or more. The position-based base salary will be replaced with a rank-based salary, with the rank-based component accounting for 70% of pay. The pension provision mechanism for Ministry of Defense personnel is also being improved and fully digitalized.
“This would be particularly timely ahead of the next anniversary of the Patriotic War.”
