Polish sports publication Weszło has highlighted statistics from Mahir Emreli’s Ekstraklasa appearances. According to the publication’s calculations, the Azerbaijan national team forward has played 25 league matches for Legia and Raków, with his team losing 21 of them. Defeats accounted for 84% of the matches.
Individual statistics at Raków
Emreli made 15 appearances for Legia in the 2021/2022 season. The Warsaw club lost 12 of those matches and won three.
After returning to Poland last summer, the forward played in all of Raków’s first 10 league matches. The team lost nine of them, securing its only victory with a 2-1 win over Motor. Emreli was not directly involved in either goal in that match.
Despite the team’s results, Emreli has scored three goals and provided one assist in 10 appearances for Raków. Those figures exceed his overall return during his time with Legia in the Polish league.
Raków’s latest defeat
Weszło’s report was prompted by Raków’s 1-4 home defeat to GKS Katowice in the 10th round. Emreli started the match and was substituted in the 61st minute. The Czestochowa club finished the previous season with 11 defeats.
The publication also recalled an incident that took place before Emreli left Legia in December 2021: after a defeat to Wisła, club supporters attacked the team bus, and Emreli was struck on the head. Shortly afterward, he left Poland to join Dinamo Zagreb.
In total, Emreli’s teams have won four of the 25 Polish league matches in which he has played. These statistics do not mean that Emreli bears personal responsibility for those defeats.
