Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique discussed why his team’s level of performance changed during their 4-2 victory over Manchester City in the second round of the Champions League league phase.
The Spanish coach said Manchester City took risks after going 3-0 down and that it was difficult to prevent them from doing so. Enrique acknowledged that PSG faced some problems but stressed that they had beaten the Premier League side.
Asked whether the result had sent a message to Europe, Enrique said PSG’s aim was to win the Champions League. He added that it was not important which team looked stronger at this stage of the tournament.
Enrique said PSG had a good run of wins against English clubs but added that he was not interested in records. L’Équipe published the coach’s remarks.
The match was played on October 14, 2026. Doué, Dembélé, Vitinha and Akliouche scored for PSG, while Haaland netted twice for Manchester City.
In the third round of the league phase, Manchester City will face AEK on October 20, while PSG will play Barcelona on the same day.
