The Kremlin has warned that providing Starlink satellite systems for strikes deep inside Russian territory would be “dangerous” and “reckless,” according to Russian media outlet Vesti.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia had the technological and military capabilities needed to ensure its security. “As for the provision of Elon Musk’s satellite systems for carrying out strikes deep inside Russia, that would be a very detrimental, potentially dangerous and reckless step,” he said.
Call to expand Starlink coverage
Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Thursday called on SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk to expand Starlink coverage, allowing Ukraine to target Russian ballistic missile launchers located inside Russian territory.
Starlink is a satellite communications system operated by SpaceX, which is owned by Musk.
Putin’s attendance at G20 summit undecided
Addressing the upcoming G20 summit, Peskov said no decision had been made on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin would attend. He added that Moscow would take all circumstances into consideration.
“In any case, Russia will actively participate in the work of the G20,” Peskov said.
On relations with the United States, he said ties remained “not in the best shape.”
