Israeli forces detained 30 Palestinians during raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, while several members of a family were injured in an attack near Nablus, according to local sources.
The Prisoners’ Media Office said the raids included searches of homes and the conversion of one house into an interrogation centre.
Fifteen Palestinians were detained in the village of Tell, 12 in Asira al-Shamaliya and one in Talfit, all in the northern Nablus province, the office said. Israeli forces also raided several homes in Asira al-Shamaliya and turned one into an interrogation centre.
One more Palestinian was arrested in Tubas in the northeastern West Bank, and another in Hebron in the south, after forces searched their homes, the same source said.
Separately, several Palestinians were injured early Tuesday when people described by local sources as Israeli settlers, dressed in military uniforms, attacked a family in Talfit, south of Nablus. The sources told Anadolu Agency that the attackers, posing as Israeli soldiers, knocked on the door of Yusuf Munawwar Abu Aisha’s home before severely beating him and members of his family.
Several family members suffered injuries and bruising and were taken to hospital. Israeli forces also raided several homes in the village, the sources said.
Israeli military raids and attacks by settlers against Palestinians and their property have intensified across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since Israel launched its war on Gaza in October 2023.
Palestinians say illegal settlement expansion and attacks threaten the prospect of establishing an independent Palestinian state in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
