Iranian drones launched during the third day of retaliatory strikes have been intercepted over Kuwaiti airspace.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Reuters, that the incident occurred as regional tensions continue to escalate following recent military developments.

The head of civil defense stated that Kuwait's air defense forces successfully intercepted the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the Rumaythiya and Salwa districts. No casualties or significant damage have been reported as a result of the interception. Powerful explosions and sirens were heard across Kuwait, while witnesses also reported a series of strong blasts in Dubai and Doha on the morning of March 2.

According to reports, Tehran announced its intention to strike American bases in the region following attacks on Iran by the U.S. and Israel on February 28. This escalation follows a period of heightened military readiness across the Middle East, with US President Donald Trump emphasizing the protection of American interests and regional allies. Kuwait, which hosts several key military installations, has frequently served as a strategic partner in maintaining regional security and stability.
