Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has stated that a ceasefire between the United States and Iran will remain in effect provided that a similar agreement is reached between Israel and Lebanon.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iravani emphasized that Tehran's primary condition is for the ceasefire to encompass the entire region, including Lebanon. He further noted that Iran is prepared to resolve the ongoing conflict with the United States through both diplomatic and military channels. "If they wish to sit at the negotiating table, we will be ready; however, if they choose the path of war, Iran is also prepared for that," the envoy stated.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader escalation in the Middle East. The relationship between Washington and Tehran has faced significant challenges, particularly regarding regional influence and security dynamics. US President Donald Trump has maintained a focus on regional stability, while international mediators continue to seek pathways for de-escalation between various actors in the Middle East to ensure long-term security.
