Iran’s parliament has approved Mehrdad Akhlaqi Kitabchi as defense minister.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the Mehr news agency carried the announcement.
The decision was made at an open session on Sunday after lawmakers reviewed his qualifications and proposed work program.
Kitabchi replaces Major General Aziz Nasirzadeh, who was killed in attacks by the United States and Israel.
