Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it targeted and struck a US Navy auxiliary vessel equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the report was initially released by the Mehr News Agency.

An official statement from the IRGC noted that the combat support ship, which was reportedly carrying "Maritime Strike Tomahawk" missiles, sustained serious damage as a result of the missile strikes. The statement further warned that other US maritime assets in the region remain within the target range of Iran's missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) capabilities.

This incident occurs amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, where the presence of US naval forces has been a point of contention for Tehran. The Tomahawk cruise missile is a long-range, all-weather, jet-powered missile used by the US Navy for deep-land attack warfare. US President Donald Trump has previously emphasized the strategic importance of maintaining a strong military presence in the region to protect international shipping lanes and regional stability. Neither the US Department of Defense nor the White House has yet issued a formal confirmation regarding the extent of the alleged damage.
