Ilham Aliyev warns of malicious use of artificial intelligence

The use of modern technologies and new capabilities to expand the scope of terrorist activities is a serious concern.

"Operative Information Center-OMM" reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks in an address to participants of the 4th Baku Security Forum.

"The malicious use of digital capabilities, including artificial intelligence, contributes to the spread of radical ideas, expands the financial resources of terrorist networks and facilitates the recruitment of new supporters, creating serious obstacles to the effectiveness of efforts to combat terrorism. Under these circumstances, the fight against terrorism should not be limited to the efforts of individual countries; it must remain one of the important areas of international cooperation and joint action," the head of state said.

Artificial intelligence can support legitimate security and public-service applications, but its misuse may accelerate the dissemination of extremist content, enable the coordination of terrorist networks and complicate efforts to identify threats. International cooperation remains central to addressing these risks.
