President Ilham Aliyev has stated that the first official visit of the President of Latvia to Azerbaijan will significantly bolster the friendly relations between the two nations.
According to Report, the head of state shared these remarks on his official X social media account. "Mr. President, welcome to Azerbaijan. The Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed nine years ago has elevated Azerbaijan–Latvia relations to a high level. I am confident that your first official visit to our country as President will further strengthen our friendly ties and open new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation," the post read.
Azerbaijan and Latvia share a robust diplomatic history, particularly since the signing of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership in 2015. This visit marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations, focusing on expanding economic cooperation, energy security, and political dialogue within the framework of Azerbaijan's growing partnership with European Union member states.
