A projectile launched by Yemen’s Houthi group struck a school in the southern Saudi city of Najran on Friday, causing material damage, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing a Civil Defense spokesman.
The spokesman said emergency teams responded after what he described as a “hostile projectile” fell in the area. Standard procedures for incidents of this kind were carried out, he added.
Earlier, the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said it had intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait. Saudi Arabia has led the coalition against the Houthis since March 2015. The group has controlled the capital, Sanaa, and several provinces since September 2014.
