Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmat Hajiyev, has shared updates from his visit to Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Hajiyev announced the visit via his official account on the X social media platform.
"A path of science stretching from Garabagh to Bukhara... The prominent 17th-century philosopher and scholar Yusif Garabaghi left Garabagh to work in Samarkand and Bukhara, leaving a significant mark on the scientific and cultural life of Central Asia. In 1619, the ruler of Bukhara, Bahadur Khan, built a library in his honor and appointed Yusif Garabaghi as its director. To this day, the grave of Yusif Garabaghi remains in Bukhara. From Garabagh to Bukhara - a bridge of science, culture, and friendship that spans centuries," Hajiyev noted in his post.
The visit takes place within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) events currently being held in Uzbekistan. Such diplomatic engagements underscore the deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asian nations, focusing on shared historical, cultural, and scientific heritage. The Organization of Turkic States serves as a vital platform for strengthening political and economic ties among member states, fostering regional integration and preserving the common identity of the Turkic world.
