Hail and snow forecast for Azerbaijan tomorrow

Occasional rain is expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula tomorrow, May 17, with the possibility of intensification and lightning in certain areas of the peninsula.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a weather warning regarding the changing conditions. According to the service, the occasionally strengthening north-west wind is expected to moderate during the daytime.

In the capital, the air temperature will range between 14-16°C at night and 17-21°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will stand at 752 mm Hg, with relative humidity reaching 75-80%. Across the regions of Azerbaijan, intermittent precipitation is anticipated, with heavy rain, lightning, and hail expected in specific locations. In high-altitude mountainous areas, the precipitation is likely to turn into snow.

The National Hydrometeorological Service is a structural unit under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, responsible for monitoring atmospheric processes and providing official weather forecasts. Such fluctuations in spring weather are characteristic of the region's diverse climate zones, which range from semi-desert to alpine conditions.
