The head of Iran's Judiciary, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, has announced that individuals accused of espionage, infiltration, and "treason against the country" will face resolute prosecution and punishment.
According to a report by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the official statement emphasized that the judiciary's strategy in the current environment is "clear" regarding the handling of "traitorous elements" within the framework of the law.
Mohseni-Ejei specified that the term "traitors" encompasses spies, those responsible for leaking sensitive information, and individuals accused of undermining national unity. He further stressed that the judicial system will investigate such cases with determination, adhering to Islamic law and the principles of justice. The official added that authorities will take serious measures against anyone attempting to disrupt the internal stability of the country.
The Iranian judiciary frequently issues such warnings during periods of heightened regional tension or domestic scrutiny. Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, who was appointed to his position in 2021, has consistently maintained a hardline stance on national security and internal dissent.
