Lazio coach Gennaro Gattuso has responded to criticism of his coaching career, rejecting claims that he failed at every club he managed.
“I have not failed everywhere I have worked. People talk about me as if I were a drifter. Yet all you have to do is look at the statistics,” journalist Nicolò Schira quoted Gattuso as saying.
The coach stressed that individual moments had affected the results. He said Milan and Napoli fell one point short of qualifying for the Champions League, while he missed out on the league title with Hajduk in the final round.
After six rounds in Serie A, Lazio, under Gattuso, sit second in the standings with 16 points.
