Qarabağda enerji alternativ mənbələrdəndir

The vast majority of electricity supplied to the Garabagh and East Zangilan economic regions is derived from alternative and renewable energy sources, marking a significant step in the region's sustainable development.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, these remarks were made by Emin Huseynov, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, during a press briefing at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku.

“First and foremost, hydroelectric power plants are being utilized, which will facilitate the formation of a sustainable economic base in the region. At the same time, we have numerous projects with various partners for the establishment of solar and wind power plants. Each project is analyzed individually before implementation,” Emin Huseynov stated.

The transformation of the liberated territories into a "Green Energy Zone" is a strategic priority for the government of Azerbaijan. Following the restoration of territorial integrity, Azerbaijan has focused on rebuilding infrastructure using smart city technologies and eco-friendly energy solutions. The region possesses significant potential for solar energy, particularly in Jabrayil and Zangilan, as well as substantial wind energy potential in the mountainous areas of Kalbajar and Lachin. These initiatives align with Azerbaijan's broader commitment to reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of renewables in the national energy mix.
