Vedat Muriqi, who has drawn significant attention by scoring 19 goals in Spain's La Liga this season, is close to a return to the Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, informs that the Istanbul representative is expected to sign the Mallorca striker for a transfer fee of approximately 5-6 million euros.
The Kosovar international noted that while there was an opportunity to join Fenerbahce during the winter transfer window, his current club did not authorize the move at that time. Muriqi previously enjoyed a successful stint with the Yellow Canaries before moving to Italy and subsequently Spain, making him a fan favorite in Istanbul.
Fenerbahce, one of the most successful and historic football clubs in Turkey, is currently looking to bolster its attacking options to compete for the Super Lig title and in European competitions. The potential acquisition of Muriqi is seen as a strategic move to bring back a proven goalscorer who is already familiar with the league's dynamics and the club's high-pressure environment.
