Fenerbahce beat Alanyaspor 3-0 at home in the eighth round of the Turkish Super League.
The hosts were awarded a penalty in the 16th minute after Levent Mercan went down in the box. Two minutes later, the goalkeeper saved Mason Greenwood’s attempt, and Irfan Can Kahveci put the rebound into the net. The goal was ruled out because Kahveci had entered the penalty area before the kick was taken.
Fenerbahce opened the scoring in the 40th minute. Romelu Lukaku finished from close range after a pass from Levent Mercan. The Belgian striker scored his first goal for the Istanbul club.
Irfan Can Kahveci’s goal in the 47th minute was disallowed after a VAR review because of a foul earlier in the move. He found the net again in the 52nd minute, but that goal was ruled out for offside.
Kerem Aktürkoğlu doubled Fenerbahce’s lead in the 71st minute. In the 87th minute, Muriqi made it 3-0 after a pass from Aktürkoğlu.
Fenerbahce captain Mert Hakan Yandas came on for Irfan Can Kahveci in the 77th minute, returning to action after 568 days. His previous appearance was in an away match against Bodrum FK on March 28, 2025. His last game at Kadıköy was against Samsunspor on March 16.
Greenwood has now taken three penalties this season. He has missed two: he failed to convert in the 20th minute against Konyaspor and scored from the spot against Eyüpspor.
After losing 6-0 to Aston Villa in England in the UEFA Champions League during the week, Fenerbahce will face Galatasaray in the ninth round of the Turkish Super League.
