The European Commission and Ukraine have agreed to accelerate work on allocating €45 billion ($50 billion) through the Ukraine Support Loan for 2027, according to a joint statement issued on Thursday.
The allocation will be subject to established conditions. The two sides will also begin identifying Ukraine’s additional budgetary and defence needs.
“All sides agreed that other partners should also fulfil their financial commitments and step up their efforts in light of the significant challenges Ukraine is facing,” the statement said.
The Commission and Ukraine also agreed to meet monthly to coordinate their joint efforts.
