Barcelona defenders Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde were injured in the team’s 5-2 win over Betis in the ninth round of the Spanish championship. According to a statement posted by the club on X, both players will miss the Champions League league-phase match against PSG on October 20.
The match will kick off at 22:00 Moscow time and 23:00 Baku time. Garcia sustained an injury to his rectus femoris muscle. The Spanish defender is expected to need up to a month to recover. He will miss Barcelona’s matches until the November international break.
Kounde will miss the game against PSG because of a sprained ankle ligament. His availability for the La Liga match against Real Madrid on October 25, in the 10th round, will depend on his recovery.
