Sabah’s new signing Du Queiroz assessed the team’s performance after its 2-0 win over Slavia in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
The player said the match was physically demanding and that the accurate execution of decisive passes influenced the result.
Champions League target
Du Queiroz said the team wanted to win every match. In his view, Sabah must learn from the mistakes made against Manchester United, continue to improve and try to progress beyond the league phase.
He said he believed the team could compete in both European competitions and the domestic league. The depth of the squad and the coach’s ability to rotate players, he said, would allow Sabah to perform at the same level in both tournaments.
“I feel happy at Sabah”
The player said he felt comfortable at his new club and in Azerbaijan, adding that his family was also happy with the city and the country. He said he was pleased with the club’s structure and the support of his teammates.
Du Queiroz said Sabah could be a stepping stone to stronger clubs in Europe. He added that he was continuing to work and make progress toward that goal.
