Didier Deschamps named as possible new Real Madrid coach

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has identified a possible replacement for head coach Jose Mourinho. EsRadio host Sergio Valentin, citing journalist Jorge Picon, said that the candidate is Didier Deschamps.

Valentin wrote on his X account that Perez had told people close to him he had already decided who could replace Mourinho if the team’s situation did not improve. According to Valentin, the candidate is former France national team head coach Didier Deschamps.

Mourinho took charge of Real Madrid for a second time in the summer of 2026. The Madrid club is second in the Spanish league standings after nine rounds, six points behind leaders Barcelona.
