The aftermath of the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24 continues to intensify. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, the death toll from the natural disaster has risen to 5,208, with the number of injured reaching 16,740.

Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, announced on social media that the death toll has increased by an additional 89 people since the last official update. He stated that 23,820 individuals are currently being housed in 107 temporary shelter camps, while humanitarian aid has been delivered to 128,324 families to date.

Authorities noted that the region has experienced significant seismic instability following the initial tremors, with a total of 1,388 aftershocks recorded since June 24. Venezuela, located in a seismically active zone, frequently faces challenges related to tectonic activity, necessitating robust emergency response protocols and international cooperation to manage the humanitarian impact of such large-scale disasters.
