Sabah defender Rahman Dashdamirov called the team’s victory over Slavia in Baku historic after their UEFA Champions League main-stage match. The Masazir-based side beat their opponents 2-0.
Dashdamirov said winning in the competition in front of their home fans was a special feeling. He congratulated his teammates, the head coach and the supporters on the result, adding that he was proud of the team.
According to the defender, Slavia were a quality opponent who created scoring chances. Despite the danger posed by Slavia’s attacks, Dashdamirov said he was pleased that Sabah came out on top. He added that his team deserved the best possible results in the competition and would aim to collect maximum points in their upcoming matches.
Dashdamirov added that before facing Borussia Dortmund, Sabah would play an away match against Gabala in the Azerbaijan league. The defender said the team was currently focused on that game and would prepare for the Dortmund match after the domestic league fixture. He stressed that their main objective would be to earn points and win in their home matches.
