The Portuguese Football Federation has announced the punishment imposed on Cristiano Ronaldo for leaving the national team’s camp a day before its away match against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League. The 41-year-old footballer has been suspended from football for 30 days and fined 255 euros.
The disciplinary committee ruled that the charge against Ronaldo, who left the camp after a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus, was justified under Article 160 of the regulations.
Ronaldo did not play in Portugal’s UEFA Nations League match against Norway on September 27. He accused head coach Jesus of failing to keep his promises.
Ronaldo is expected to be included in the squad for Portugal’s UEFA Nations League matches against Denmark and Wales in November. Portugal have won all four of their matches in the tournament.
