China highly values Azerbaijan’s efforts to strengthen the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and welcomes the extension of the country’s chairmanship for a new term.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks at the 7th CICA Summit in Baku.
He thanked Azerbaijan, as the chairing country, for its comprehensive preparations for the summit and the high-level organization of the event.
“During its two-year chairmanship, Azerbaijan advanced cooperation in connectivity, the digital economy, green development and strengthening resilience to climate change, while consistently working to strengthen CICA,” Wang Yi said.
Beijing highly values these efforts and supports Azerbaijan continuing its chairmanship mission, he said.
China’s foreign minister added that his country is ready to continue actively supporting CICA and participating in the organization’s work.
