Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet praised Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, he made the remarks at the seventh CICA Summit in Baku.
Hun Manet thanked President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani government and people for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to the Cambodian delegation.
“I highly appreciate Azerbaijan’s chairmanship and congratulate the country on its extension for a further two years,” he said.
The prime minister also commended Azerbaijan’s chairmanship and the work of the CICA Secretariat in organizing the summit.
Cambodia also welcomed the Lao People’s Democratic Republic’s admission to the organization as a full member.
Hun Manet said Laos’s participation would help increase CICA’s representation and inclusiveness.
CICA is a regional forum established to promote cooperation and confidence-building among Asian countries. Azerbaijan has chaired the organization, which brings together member states to discuss regional security and cooperation.
