In the regions of Azerbaijan, the weather is also expected to be mostly dry with occasional fog in various districts. A moderate west wind will blow. Temperatures in the regions are forecasted to be between 1°C frost and 4°C heat at night, and 8–13°C heat during the day. In mountainous areas, temperatures will drop to 2–7°C frost at night, reaching 3–8°C heat during the day. Due to the potential for icy roads in high-altitude regions at night, drivers and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution.
The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide accurate forecasts for the country. Such seasonal fluctuations in January are typical for the Caspian region, where the maritime influence often moderates winter temperatures in Baku while maintaining colder, more volatile conditions in the mountainous terrain of the Lesser and Greater Caucasus.
