The Innovation and Digital Development Agency hosted a meeting between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport to discuss ongoing initiatives and future cooperation in digitalization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and innovation.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, representatives from both agencies emphasized the importance of accelerating the digital transformation process in Azerbaijan. They highlighted the necessity of strengthening inter-agency cooperation in information and cybersecurity, as well as the critical role of professional personnel training in these sectors.
The discussions focused on aligning these efforts with the state policy defined by President Ilham Aliyev, specifically regarding the implementation of the "Action Plan for Accelerating Digital Development for 2026-2028." This strategic framework aims to bolster the nation's technological infrastructure and resilience against modern digital threats.
The meeting also referenced the June session of the Digital Development Council, chaired by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, where progress on the Action Plan and future priorities were reviewed. Strengthening institutional collaboration and developing human capital remain central to these national objectives.
Furthermore, it was noted that the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center, under the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, regularly organizes professional courses and training for Ministry of Defense personnel. These initiatives are designed to enhance the expertise of military personnel in information security, improve their ability to counter modern cyber threats, and solidify cooperation between state institutions.
Azerbaijan has been actively prioritizing cybersecurity as part of its broader national security strategy, recognizing that digital sovereignty and the protection of critical information infrastructure are essential components of modern defense capabilities.
