The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has extended its official congratulations to the Republic of South Sudan on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry shared the congratulatory message on its official "X" (formerly Twitter) account.
"We sincerely congratulate the Republic of South Sudan on its Independence Day and wish the country lasting peace, stability, and prosperity," the statement read.
South Sudan, which gained independence in 2011, is the world's youngest nation. Azerbaijan maintains diplomatic relations with various African nations as part of its foreign policy strategy to expand bilateral cooperation and strengthen ties within international organizations, including the Non-Aligned Movement, where both nations engage in multilateral dialogue.
