Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has expressed deep condolences to China over a tragic coal mine explosion in Shanxi province that resulted in numerous casualties.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the ministry shared its statement on its official X account. "We are deeply saddened by the tragic explosion at a coal mine in China's Shanxi province, which caused numerous casualties and injuries. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, and wish a speedy and full recovery to all those injured. We express our solidarity with the authorities and emergency response forces working in rescue and recovery efforts, and share the grief of all those affected by this tragedy," the MFA stated.
The accident occurred in Qinyuan County, located in northern China's Shanxi province, where the death toll has reportedly reached 82 people. Shanxi is one of China's major coal-producing regions, and local authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the deadly incident.
