Border authorities in Azerbaijan have successfully intercepted a significant quantity of contraband, with a total estimated value of 5,609,617 manats, during operations conducted over the past month.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Border Service, the operation resulted in the prevention of illegal attempts to smuggle large quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country.
In addition to illicit drugs, border guards seized various other items, including US currency, alcoholic beverages, pharmaceutical products, and tobacco goods. These seizures are part of ongoing efforts by the State Border Service to strengthen border security and combat transnational organized crime, which remains a key priority for the national security apparatus in Azerbaijan.
