Azərbaycan-Rusiya aviareysləri: yeni istiqamətlər açılır

Direct air travel between Azerbaijan and Russia is set to expand, with plans to restore and launch a series of new flight routes in the near future.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced the development today in Moscow during a joint press conference following bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the restoration of these flights will specifically address routes that were restricted following a tragic incident involving an Azerbaijani civil aircraft in December 2024. The expansion is viewed as a significant step in normalizing and strengthening transport connectivity between the two nations.

The aviation sector serves as a vital component of the economic and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. Enhancing air connectivity is expected to facilitate increased tourism, business exchanges, and people-to-people ties, reflecting the strategic partnership and ongoing diplomatic efforts to maintain stable bilateral relations in the region.
