At least eight injured in knife attack at Polish school

At least eight people were injured in a knife attack at a school in the northeastern Polish city of Ostroleka on Wednesday, local media reported.

Five children and three adults were taken to hospital, Adrian Stupski of the fire brigade told “RMF FM”.

The suspected attacker, a 19-year-old student at the school, was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene. He was also injured, police spokesman Marcin Sawicki told the Polish Press Agency.

Police officers at the scene were investigating the course of events.
