Winners of the national art olympiad in Azerbaijan will be granted admission to higher education institutions without the requirement of entrance examinations, officials announced.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli made this statement during a public hearing on "The current state and development prospects of art schools" held by the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Committee for Science and Education.

The Minister noted that the format of the existing Children's Art Festival will undergo a significant transformation starting next year. "Based on an agreement reached with the Ministry of Science and Education, the Children's Art Festival will be held in the format of an art olympiad from next year. As a result, the winners will be able to be admitted to higher education institutions without exams," Karimli stated.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy in Azerbaijan to foster young talent and streamline the transition from specialized secondary arts education to professional academic training. By integrating the festival into the national olympiad system, the government aims to elevate the status of arts education to match that of academic subjects like mathematics and physics, where international and local olympiad winners already enjoy similar admission privileges. The move is expected to encourage greater participation in cultural education across the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
