If Armenia suspends its membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), remittances from Russia could fall by more than half, to $1.8 billion, compared with $3.88 billion in 2025.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports, citing Russian media, that this is stated in a joint report by Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan. The document was published on the Russian government’s website.
“Total remittances to Armenia from all EAEU countries could decline from $3.95 billion in 2025 to $1.85 billion,” the document said.
In addition, suspending Armenia’s participation in the EAEU could increase the price of gas from $177.5 to $300 per 1,000 cubic meters, a rise of 69%.
“The scenario assessment for Armenia’s gas imports from EAEU member states assumes a price of $300 per 1,000 cubic meters, with the physical volume of supplies remaining unchanged. Compared with the current base price of $177.5, the increase would be about 69%,” the report said.
It also said the figure is indicative and that the actual price could be higher, depending on market conditions.
