Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Bishkek.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Armenian government's press service, the two leaders discussed the bilateral cooperation agenda during their meeting.
Indian media reports indicate that the leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, as well as the current regional and global situation. No further official details regarding the specifics of the discussion were disclosed.
Pashinyan is currently on a two-day official visit to Kyrgyzstan to participate in the SCO summit. In parallel with these diplomatic engagements, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan recently hosted a delegation led by Air Marshal Manesh Kumar Gupta, Commandant of India's National Defence College, to discuss military cooperation between the two nations.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, founded in 2001, serves as a major Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance. While Armenia is not a member state, participation in such summits allows Yerevan to engage in broader diplomatic dialogues with key regional powers like India and Russia. It is also reported that a meeting between Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin is planned within the framework of the summit.
